Root Canal Therapy

Endodontic is a branch of dentistry that is entirely dedicated to the study of dental pulp. Like every part of the body, even our teeth are connected to the circulatory system. The dental pulp, a soft tissue located below the gum line, contains the arteries and veins providing the tooth with its nutrients. If the pulp is infected and not treated, it dies. Infected pulp can also cause an abscess. Infected pulp is mostly painless, unless the pulp swells.

Removing the pulp through a root canal therapy and replacing it with an inert material like gold alloy, cement etc. is the only resort for irreparably damaged pulp. In case of further damage of the pulp, extraction of the tooth can be necessary.

Your tooth might need a root canal therapy if:

  • It hurts when you bite or touch the tooth
  • Heat/cold sensitivity
  • Swelling around the tooth
  • It is discolored (whether it hurts or not)
  • Cracked or broken tooth along with other symptoms

At Dr. Marc Weizenberg’s clinic, you will be treated with sophisticated technology that reduces the chances of relapse of the infection and extreme pain.
